X (Twitter) Phone Verification: Create an Account Without Your SIM

26/08/2026

X (formerly Twitter) requires a phone number for new accounts and will force re-verification whenever its anti-spam system twitches — a new device, a datacenter IP, a burst of follows. If you need an account that is not chained to your personal SIM, a virtual number handles the verification; the trick is doing it in a way the account survives.

Getting the number verified

  1. On AgoVerify, pick X/Twitter and choose a country route.
  2. Enter the number at X's verification prompt and request the code once.
  3. Collect the code from your order page and confirm.

X is less hostile to virtual numbers than Discord or Tinder, but it does score the whole session: IP quality, browser fingerprint, and number together. A good non-VoIP number on a clean residential-IP session passes on the first try most of the time; a flagged IP can sink even a perfect number.

Keeping the account alive

  • Add an email immediately — X lets email handle future challenges instead of the phone.
  • Enable app-based 2FA under Settings → Security, so the expired number is never required again.
  • Warm up slowly — brand-new accounts that mass-follow or mass-post within the first hours trip automated review regardless of how they were verified.

If the SMS does not arrive, the AgoVerify order expires and refunds automatically — take a different country route rather than resending the same one into the void.
